Description:
| Technique: Transfer-print | Archaeological Notes: This was the most common pattern found in the Victoria Hotel assemblage (Brassey and Macready 1994: 40, 51 Fig. 20 C1, 60 Fig. 29 a-b; and Macready and Goodwyn 1990: 13, Fig. 3 C7). 37 of the vessels were marked with the patterb name and that of the maker, Pinder Bourne & Co. One undecorated sherd from the base of a plate or saucer, however, was marked '...ouquet' in cursive script with no cartouche. This is presumably a different pattern with the same name, with decoration confined to the rim ( Brassey and Macready 1994: 40, 60 Fig. 29b). |
