Description: Technique: Transfer-printArchaeological Notes: Saxon Plaid is recorded in the D.O.C reference collection as E.A. 384. This pattern title is not recorded in Coysh and Henrywood (1984,1989). Saxon Plaid is primarily a geometric (plaid?) design, with a central scene that features a young girl with what appears to be a skipping rope in her hands. One bowl carries both the complete pattern title ?Saxon Plaid? and the initialled manufacturing mark ?G.P.?, attributable to George Philips
