Scenery (EA0317)

Description: Technique: Transfer-printArchaeological Notes: This pattern previously recovered from historic sites, but unidentified is listed in the D.O.C reference collection as E.A.317. There are a number of design series recorded in Coysh and Henrywood (1984; 1989) that include ?Scenery? as part of the pattern title. The central pattern depicts a pastoral scene that includes a church and cows (not illustrated). The border design consists of vignettes of a water scene with an urn and a boat encompassed by a detailed geometric pattern. One saucer carried both the partial pattern title ?[Sc]enery?, along with an unidentified impressed manufacturing mark
